Refund, Cancellation & Payment Policy
This policy forms part of the contractual agreement between the candidate (“you”) and ARTL (“we”, “us”, “our”) upon booking a course.
By confirming a booking and making payment, you agree to the terms outlined below.
- Booking & Payment Terms
1.1 A place on a course is only confirmed upon receipt of full payment.
1.2 All course fees must be paid in full prior to attendance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1.3 Failure to make payment by the specified deadline may result in your place being released without further notice.
1.4 Course fees are non-transferable to another person unless agreed in writing by ARTL.
- Cancellation by the Candidate
2.1 Cancellation More Than 14 Days Before the Course
If you cancel more than 14 days before the course start date:
A refund will be issued minus a £10 bank transfer/administration fee.
If course manuals or materials have already been posted, the following administration charges will apply instead:
£50 for ILS / ILSi
£100 for APLS Recertification
These charges reflect administrative processing, material handling, and postage costs.
2.2 Cancellation Within 14 Days of the Course
If you cancel less than 14 days before the course start date:
£50 will be retained for ILS / ILSi
£100 will be retained for APLS Recertification
Alternatively, you may request:
Transfer to the next available course date (subject to availability)
A £25 administration fee will apply to transfers
Transfer requests must be received in writing prior to the original course date.
- Non-Attendance
Failure to attend the course without prior written notice will result in the full course fee being forfeited.
No refund or transfer will be provided in cases of non-attendance.
- Course Materials
4.1 Where course manuals or materials have been issued or posted:
They remain the responsibility of the candidate.
Relevant administration fees apply as outlined above.
Materials are non-returnable unless agreed in writing.
4.2 ARTL is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services.
- Exceptional Circumstances
ARTL reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to consider refunds or transfers outside of this policy in cases of:
Serious medical emergencies (supporting evidence may be required)
Bereavement
Other exceptional circumstances
Such requests must be submitted in writing. Approval is not guaranteed.
- Cancellation or Rescheduling by ARTL
6.1 ARTL reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to:
Faculty illness
Insufficient candidate numbers
Venue issues
Force majeure events
6.2 In such cases, candidates will be offered:
A full refund of course fees paid, or
Transfer to an alternative course date at no additional charge.
6.3 ARTL shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, loss of earnings, or other associated expenses.
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
ARTL’s liability shall be limited to the total course fee paid.
ARTL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from cancellation, rescheduling, or attendance at a course.
Nothing in this policy excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
- Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
