ULTIMATE LIFE SUPPORT

Advanced Resuscitation Training for Experienced Healthcare Professional

Course Overview

course overview

The Ultimate Life Support (ULS) course is the UK’s first advanced resuscitation course designed by the experienced Emergency Medicine consultants for healthcare professionals who mange critically ill patients and cardiac arrest situations including Emergency Physicians, Anesthetists, Critical care specialists and Acute medicine specialists. The course is designed for professionals who have already completed ALS, EPALS, APLS or ATLS and are able to recognize that the real challenge begins when those frameworks are no longer enough. This course is a step up in how you think, decide and lead under pressure. It targets the judgement and decision making that traditional courses do not teach. It is an advanced, simulation based resuscitation course designed to complement – not replace – the existing life support training.

Learning Objectives

  1. Learn to focus on when ideal resuscitation attempts are not working and what to do next, particularly in grey area where no clear algorithms exists.
  2. The ability to recognize early when resuscitation is failing.
  3. Greater confidence in managing uncertainty and complexity.
  4. Sharper decision making under pressure.
  5. A more structured approach to high risk, high stakes situations.
  6. Simulation based training.
